What Is ETC?

ETC was founded in 2000 by Narcissa Vanderlip and Parmer Fuller, who were determined to create a quality musical theatre program based on Los Angeles' Westside. Working with talented and dedicated young performers directed by theatre professionals, ETC has presented classic and lesser known American musicals, Shakespeare in spectacular outdoor settings, and original musical theatre. ETC casts have ranged from age 7 through adults. ETC's finely tuned and stylish productions surprise and delight audiences from 5 to 105.

ETC has been growing up along with its young casts, and presented its first professional workshop production of Mirabel - The Best Education in the World in 2006 at the Miles Playhouse in Santa Monica. In 2010, ETC presented a new reading of Mirabel, and an O!-Ovation recommended production of Barry Keating's Starmites, an intergalactic, comic-book innerspace musical extravaganza directed by Steve Edlund and produced by Caitie Hannon.

In 2007, ETC forged a new partnership with Boom Kat Dance Theatre. Boom Kat is a group of young artists striving to explore the boundaries of movement and communicate story through dance. For more information, see the Programs page and scroll to the section on "Dance Theatre."
